NOTHING GOOD TO OFFER Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. - (James 4:7) READ: Luke 11:24-26 The devil has two types of captives: the willing captives and the unwilling captives. An unwilling captive is someone who has entered either willingly or unwillingly into the trap of the devil but now wants to be delivered. Such a fellow will be set free from the devil's hold when an anointed child of God prays for him or her. A willing captive, on the other hand, is someone who also gets into the devil's hold either willingly or unwillingly but refuses to repent or be delivered because of the perceived benefits he or she is getting by serving satan. Even if such a fellow is forcefully delivered, he or she will return to the devil's camp, and this time around, the bondage will be much worse because the demon(s) that were previously cast out will be multiplied sevenfold (Matthew 12:43-45). Many years ago, we discovered that a witch was among us in the church. We prayed for her to be delivered; however, she remained in bondage. We then asked her if she wanted to be free, and she said, "No. Do you want me to lose the power that I use to control my husband?" Such thinking is very unfortunate because those who serve the devil are headed for eternal damnation if they do not repent. A woman whose children were dying one after the other went to seek help from a prophet because she needed him to pray to God for their protection. While waiting for him, his wife asked her why she wanted to see her husband. She explained why she had come, and the prophet's wife gave her a kolanut to eat, telling her it would solve her problem and that she didn't need to wait for her husband again. When she went to sleep that night, she suddenly found herself among some witches in the spirit realm. They welcomed her and promised to protect her children if she joined them. She agreed based on their promise, and after some time, it became her turn to supply the blood that the coven would drink. At that point, she surrendered her husband to be sacrificed. More time passed, and it became her turn again to supply blood. This time, however, the witches asked her to sacrifice her children. That was when she decided to seek God's help to save her children from the devil's plan. Thank God she came to the church, and God delivered her. Beloved, the devil offers nothing good or lasting. For everything he gives, he takes a thousandfold in return. I pray that God grants you the grace to avoid his traps, and if he currently has any hold over you and you are willing to be set free, I decree your liberty now, in Jesus' name. OPEN HEAVEN 14 AUGUST 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JEREMIAH 33-36 OPEN HEAVEN 14 AUGUST 2026 MESSAGE: In today’s Bible reading, God made a covenant with Abram and promised to make him a father of many nations, then changed his name to Abraham. God never lies, so all the promises that He made to Abraham were fulfilled. Numbers 23:12 says:”God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”When God makes a covenant with a person, He always fulfils His part, and this gives the fellow access to everything he or she will ever need on earth. These things include long life, prosperity, favour, blessings, joy, peace, divine health, and everything good. The devil, on the other hand, is unable to keep any covenant he makes. He breaks his promises at will because he is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). People often enter into covenants with other parties to receive something from them, while also giving something in return. The real weight of a covenant, however, comes when one of the parties involved is unable to fulfil their obligations. In most cases, a heavy weight of death is the consequence for breaking a covenant. When people join secret societies, they enter into covenants. When they do not do the things they are asked to do in the group, the penalty is usually death. You might be asking yourself, “Why would anybody want to join a cult knowing that it could lead to their death?” Some people claim that they join secret societies because they need protection, while others say that it is for prosperity and other benefits. It is important to note that the devil lures them into such societies with the promise of those things, but in return, he takes their souls and destroys them. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul (Matthew 16:26)? A soul is too heavy a weight for anyone to surrender to the devil. Beloved, do not allow the devil to tempt you into establishing an evil covenant with empty promises, and if you have entered into any covenant with hell and signed a pact with satan, Jesus can set you free if you run to Him. He will not cast away anyone who comes to Him (John 6:37). I pray that the Lord will establish His covenant of peace with you and your household, in Jesus’ name. OPEN HEAVENS 12 AUGUST 2026 MESSAGE: Referencing the example I gave in the first paragraph of yesterday’s teaching, if God gives you an assignment, He will provide you with the resources you need to execute it. Some of those resources will be around you, and others will be within you. As we see in today’s memory verse, to whom much is given, much is expected, so the more resources God gives you, the more results He expects from you. People who feel that God has not given them enough resources must be careful that they do not become like the servant who despised the talent his master gave him, as we read in today’s Bible reading. Some people feel that the resources they have are insufficient and try to wait for God to give them something better or more before they can start being faithful with the little they have. Beloved, this is a wrong mindset. A person who cannot be faithful with what he or she has received should not expect to receive more. God only gives more to those who have proven themselves faithful in little things. I hail from a village that was not on the map. My father was so poor that people who were also poor called him poor. Even though my parents were poor and I did not have many resources growing up, God gave me one talent, and that is my brain. I used the talent God gave me very effectively by studying diligently, and gradually, I acquired many more resources with it. The Lord gave me salvation in 1973, and from that point onward, I became a very useful vessel in His hands. When I reflect on the great things God has enabled me to achieve despite the limited resources I started out with, I always praise the Lord for His faithfulness. Indeed, when a fellow is faithful with little, more will be committed to him or her. Child of God, look around and within you, and you will see all the great gifts that God has given to you. Don’t fail Him; please, use those gifts to win more souls to the Kingdom of God. Use them to gain so much influence that when you speak, people will be willing to listen and serve the same God that you serve. I pray that the Almighty God will use you to accomplish mighty things in His Kingdom as you serve Him faithfully with the gifts He has given you, in Jesus’ name. So run, that ye may obtain." 1 Corinthians 9:24 OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST 2026 READ: PROVERBS 31:1-2 1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. 2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JEREMIAH 25-27 OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST 2026 MESSAGE: The farther you want to go in life, the more you must invest in yourself. For example, if you are driving a car with a tank full of petrol from Lagos, which is in South West Nigeria, to somewhere in Northern Nigeria, you will need to refuel your car at some point during the course of your journey. However, if you were only going to Ibadan, which is also a city in the South West of Nigeria, you wouldn’t need to stop on your way to buy more petrol. Anyone who wants to go far in life must invest resources that include holiness, hard work, knowledge, and good interpersonal skills in his or her life, while avoiding unproductive habits such as binge-watching movies, scrolling aimlessly on social media, wild partying, and the like. Discipline is required to go far in life. I recall when I was a child, my mother would compel me to stay indoors and study while my friends were outdoors playing football. I used to complain a lot about it, but she insisted until it became a part of me. One time, I was at my uncle’s place, where a masquerade show was taking place on the street, and everyone was outside watching the show except me. My uncle came to me and asked why I didn’t go outside to watch the show, and I responded, “The fellow everyone will watch someday does not sit around watching shows.” Many years later, when God had lifted me, he reminded me of that day and said, “Today, the whole world is watching you.” Beloved, what you invest in yourself is what will determine your height in life. While the other captives in the king of Babylon’s palace were busy dining and feasting on the king’s delicacies, Daniel and his three counterparts focused on consecrating themselves to the Lord (Daniel 1:3-12). I believe that they were not the only Jews in the king’s palace at that time, but they were the only ones who went on to do exploits because they invested the right resources in themselves. Child of God, if you have big dreams that you want to see come to pass, then you must pay the price to invest in yourself. You must also let go of unnecessary weights, such as laziness and a lack of self-control, as well as impurities like sin, which can hinder you from fulfilling God’s plans for your life. I pray that you will fulfil God’s plans for your life, in Jesus’ name. OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST 2026 PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to invest the right resources in my life so I can fulfil Your plans for me, in Jesus’ name. Luke 11:35 OPEN HEAVEN 03 AUGUST 2026 READ: 1 TIMOTHY 4:13-16 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. OPEN HEAVEN 03 AUGUST 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JEREMIAH 1-3 OPEN HEAVEN 03 AUGUST 2026 MESSAGE: 1 Corinthians 10:12 says that any man who thinks he is standing should take heed, or else he will fall. That tells us that a person can be standing today and fall tomorrow if he or she is not careful. Overconfidence can make someone who has been standing in the Lord for a long time fall. In my 53-year walk with God, I have witnessed many people fall due to overconfidence. They believe that because they have been standing in the Lord for a long time, they are now above certain temptations, and typically, such a mindset would make them careless. As a Christian, the devil is watching you at all times; if you become careless in any area, he can use that to bring you down. I have heard some men of God boast that they can be in the same room with a naked woman, and nothing will happen. My question is, why is a man of God in a room with a naked woman that isn’t his wife in the first place? If a man of God puts himself in such a position, he is already on the verge of falling. I always tell my children that under no circumstances should a man have a female secretary or personal assistant. This is because the man will spend long hours working with the fellow, possibly into the night at times. If such a man places so much confidence in his ability to resist temptation, it may eventually become his undoing. Overconfidence has also led many people to ignore the basics of their salvation. For example, some ministers of God believe that some Bible study meetings are now beneath them because of their anointing. Some others believe that they don’t need to listen or take notes when someone they consider to be below them in hierarchy is preaching. Some even hold other meetings during praise and worship sessions. Actions like these show overconfidence and often lead to a fall. Beloved, never allow yourself to become overconfident in your walk with God. Do not let any exploits that you may have done in the past distract you from following the basics of your salvation. You can never outgrow walking circumspectly, studying the word of God, fasting, and fellowshipping with other believers. No matter your level of growth in the Lord, you can’t outgrow these things. I pray that the Almighty God will keep you standing in Him unto the end of your race here on earth, in Jesus’ name. Help me not to be careless with the salvation of my soul, in Jesus’ name. 5 Father, please help me not to become careless in any area of my life, never to willingly expose myself to certain temptations wherever I find myself, in Jesus’ name. 6 Father, please help me not to place so much confidence in my ability to resist temptation. Help me to understand that the devil is seeking after my fall, and never to create any avenue to entertain him, in Jesus’ name. 7 Father, please help me never to ignore the basics of my salvation – the studying of Your word with fellow brethren, willingness to learn and to take notes even under my subordinate, to partake fully in praise and worship sessions, in Jesus’ name. 8 Father, please help me never to allow myself to be overconfident in my walk with You. Help me not to be distracted from following the basics of my salvation as a result of the exploits of the past, in Jesus’ name. 9 Father, no matter the level of my growth in You O Lord, help me never to outgrow prayers and fasting, studying the word and fellowshipping with other brethren, in Jesus’ name. 10 Father, please keep me standing in You unto the end of my race here on earth, in Jesus’ name. 11 Father, thank You for the life of Your son, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye. Please help him never to outgrow the basics of salvation. Keep him standing till the end of his race here on earth, in Jesus’ name. Bless his children (biological and spiritual). OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 THURSDAY: AVOIDING TEMPTATION OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 MEMORISE: "Abstain from all appearance of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:22 OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 READ: JAMES 1:12-16 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 53-56 OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2026 MESSAGE: All human beings will face temptations at different points in their lives. Even the Lord Jesus Christ was tempted in all points while he was on the earth (Hebrews 4:15). If the devil could tempt Jesus, then no one is above temptation. Despite this, however, certain temptations can be avoided. James 1:13-15 says, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” This means that if there is any lust in your life, you must confront and overcome it; otherwise, it can be used to draw you into sin, and sin brings death. To choose life, you must mortify the works of the flesh by the help of the Holy Spirit (Colossians 3:5). However, even as you’re mortifying your flesh through the help of the Holy Spirit, you must avoid people, places, and things that may tempt you. For example, if a man knows that he struggles to be faithful with money, he should not accept responsibilities that would put him in charge of other people’s money until he has successfully mortified the lust for money through the help of the Holy Spirit. Beloved, temptation is like a bird; it can fly over your head, and you may be unable to stop it from doing so. However, you can prevent it from building a nest on your head. If you let it build a nest on your head, then it is only a matter of time before your head is filled with its poop. This is why it is better to walk away from situations or things that can tempt you, because when you give in to temptation, you might soon realise that it has taken over your life. At a time when some pastors under my watch had motorcycles, I forbade them from carrying ladies on their bikes. This is because the close physical contact that occurs during such motorcycle rides might sow a seed in both of their hearts that may germinate into something dangerous in the future. Today’s memory verse instructs us to flee every appearance of evil. Child of God, immediately you sense any form of temptation around you, flee! Revelation 20:15 OPEN HEAVEN 29 JULY 2026 READ: REVELATION 21:8, REVELATION 21:26-27 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. OPEN HEAVEN 29 JULY 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 50-52 OPEN HEAVEN 29 JULY 2026 MESSAGE: I was shocked when I heard someone say several years ago that he was preparing to go to hell. He even said that he wanted to take my Father in the Lord, me, and one other person along with him. The most shocking thing was that the individual who made that statement was a senior minister in the church at that time. Today’s Bible reading lists the types of people who are already preparing to make the lake of fire their home. These people probably know God and have seen His mighty works at different times; however, they still choose to live a lifestyle that opposes His ways. I may not be able to talk about each of the types of people elaborately here, but I will comment on some of them below. There are people who are too afraid to bear God’s name; therefore, they deny Him before men. In Matthew 10:33. Jesus said that He will also deny such people in the presence of His Father. There are also those who refer to themselves as atheists. They claim not to believe that God exists, whereas it is untrue because they know deep within themselves that He exists. He calls out to them every now and then, and they can feel Him reaching out to them. However, they choose not to believe in Him. They don’t even want to hear God’s word or study it because they just don’t want to believe. There are also those who do abominable things, those who murder, and those who are sexually immoral. All such people who have chosen such lifestyles will go to hell if they refuse to repent. Regardless of how saintly they may appear, their final home is in the lake of fire. Likewise, those who outrightly serve the devil, such as witches and wizards, cultists, and those who belong to associations that engage in evil acts, will also end up in the lake of fire. Lastly, liars will also suffer the same fate and end up in the lake of fire. Beloved, I want you to honestly evaluate your life. If you discover that you fall into any of the categories of people listed in today’s Bible reading, I urge you to repent now and change your lifestyle because the lake of fire is a place of unending sorrow. I pray that when Jesus comes back to the earth, you and I will enter into paradise with Him, in Jesus’ name. John 14:3 OPEN HEAVEN 28 JULY 2026 READ: REVELATION 21:1-11 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. There is, however, another set of people who see heaven as their home and conduct their lives in a way that ensures they will end up there. I am one of such people. I also mentioned yesterday that the earth and everything inside it are temporal. In Revelation 21:1, the Bible says that this earth will pass away someday, then verse 2 says: And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. The Scripture above makes us understand that when the earth passes away, people who did not take the earth as their home, those who remained faithful to Jesus Christ, the Husband of the Church, will be in a new Jerusalem that will descend from God out of heaven. When you read the passage in today’s Bible reading further, you will find out that as genuine Christians, we will dwell with God in the same city and be with Him at all times. There will be no more sorrow or weeping for us forever. This is why I do not mind sacrificing anything in this world as long as I make it to heaven. This is because I know that when I get there, it will be joy forever more. Indeed, as Romans 8:35-39 says, nothing will ever separate me from the love of my Father, and I am determined to spend eternity with Him. This earth is not my home; therefore, nothing here is as important as my goal of making it to heaven. When people see me still going on long prayer walks at my age, travelling from place to place to preach the gospel, giving to the poor, and spending and being spent for God, they may not know it or understand it, but I am laying up treasures for myself in heaven because that is my final destination; that is my home. I have been shown glimpses of heaven in visions a few times before. Anyone who has experienced the beauty of heaven will not desire to be anywhere else because God’s glory lightens the city, and the Lamb is the light in it (Revelation 21:23). Beloved, do everything possible to ensure that you make it to heaven. I pray that I will see you there, in Jesus’ name. OPEN HEAVEN 27 JULY 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 44-46 OPEN HEAVEN 27 JULY 2026 MESSAGE: Many people today conduct their lives as if the earth is their home and final resting place. Such people focus solely on gathering treasures here on earth and practically worship material things. For them, the things that they see and own are far more important than everything else. They want to drive the best cars, live in the biggest houses, eat the most exotic foods, and gather as much money as they can at all costs. All they care about are vain things, and nothing else matters to them. The Bible tells us in James 4:4 that friendship with this world is enmity with God. This means that anyone who loves the things of this world more than anything else, cares so deeply about material things, and is willing to do practically anything to acquire material possessions is an enemy of God. The same Scripture refers to such a fellow as an adulterer or adulteress. This is because, as Christians, God, our Maker, is our Husband (Isaiah 54:4), and He is the One who owns us. Therefore, if someone or something else succeeds in taking our hearts away from our Husband, we are committing adultery. Beloved, I would like you to read today’s memory verse carefully and ensure you memorise it. I would love it if you could make it your watchword henceforth, because it is important to understand that all the things you see around you are temporal. For instance, a car that used to be flashy ten years ago is no longer flashy now. Likewise, the most sophisticated phone ten years ago has become outdated today. The things of this world are temporal and have no eternal value. However, the devil uses them as bait to distract people from things that are truly valuable and those that have eternal consequences. For instance, many young ladies have been lured into engaging in illicit sexual activities because they want to use the latest phones and wear the best clothes. They traded their virginity for material possessions, and they can never recover what they have lost, whereas they can lose what they thought they gained. Child of God, take heed to the words of Jesus in Mark 8:36-37. Nothing on earth today is as valuable as your soul, and nothing is worth losing your soul in hell over. Don’t fall for the devil’s lies; keep your focus on God and His kingdom rather than the things of the world. Earth is not your home; you’re only passing through! THE KEYS TO FREEDOM 1 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. - (Psalm 72:12) READ: Mark 10:46-52 God does not want anyone to be under satan's yoke. This is why Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). God is more than able to break the enemy's yoke over anyone (Isaiah 10:27), but such a person must first admit that he or she needs to be delivered. Years ago, a man brought his wife to me and said, "Daddy, help me. My wife is a witch." I asked the woman if it was true, and she denied it. I then told her that if she was indeed a witch, as her husband claimed, we could pray with her, and she would be delivered. However, she insisted that she wasn't a witch because she wasn't willing to be delivered. I then prayed, "If you're not a witch, you will continue to prosper; however, if you are, I bind whatever demon is operating in you." Three months later, she was brought back to me with her body so swollen, as she had doubled in size! Apparently, the demon that I bound inside her and had been feeding on her and defecating in her. The first step for someone who is under the devil's yoke to become free is for the fellow to admit that there is a burden that he or she needs to be freed from. Until the fellow makes such an admission, he or she cannot be free. Likewise, if the person is okay with where he or she is and is satisfied with sickness, loneliness, barrenness, sorrow, or pain, he or she will remain under the burden of satan. Sometime ago, a man was coughing badly, and he was brought to me for prayers. In the past, I would have gone ahead and prayed for him without asking questions, but from experience, I had learnt to ask questions. Therefore, I asked him, "Sir, how can I help you?" Even though it was clear that he was sick, I knew that I needed to ask him what he really wanted, just as Jesus asked Bartimaeus what he wanted in today's Bible reading. To my surprise, the man said, "I want you to pray that the cough leaves slowly." Beloved, are you under satan's yoke in any area of your life? Admit that you need God's help and cry to Him to break it off immediately and completely. He will come to your aid speedily and deliver you, in the mighty name of Jesus. DELIVERANCE FROM THE BURDEN OF DEBTS The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, - (Luke 4:18) READ: 2 Kings 4:1-7 Today, I will discuss the burden of debt as another category of burdens. Some years ago, we had a housemaid who would always sing, "The fire is burning the bush, and the bush is not consumed. How great is our God!" every time we asked her to bring up a song during our family prayers. One day, it occurred to me to ask her what the unconsumed bush she always sang about was. When I did, I discovered that she became a housemaid because her parents were heavily in debt and could not pay their bills. Therefore, we decided to pay off all the debt. After paying the debt, the next time we asked her to suggest a song when we wanted to pray, she sang something different. This time, her song was, "He has done it for me. What my father cannot do, He has done it for me." If you are under any burden of debt, I pray that this will also be your song soon, in Jesus' name. Today's Bible reading tells us the story of the widow of one of the sons of the prophets who was in debt. When the creditors threatened to sell her sons into slavery as a means to offset the debts, she cried unto the Burden Bearer, as there was nothing she could do on her own, and the tide turned. God gave her more than enough to pay her debts and live comfortably with her sons. It is God's desire for all His children to live debt-free because debts are heavy burdens, and debtors are always at the mercy of their creditors. This is why Proverbs 22:7 says that the borrower is a servant to the lender. The only thing God permits you to owe other people is love (Romans 13:8). If you are currently struggling under a heavy burden of debt, call unto Him today and ask Him to turn your financial situation around for good. No matter the size of the debt, the Burden Bearer will step in and help you to overcome it. As (2 Corinthians 9:8) says, He is able to make all grace abound towards you and give you sufficiency in all things. He will not only ensure that you become debt-free, but He will give you the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and make you a lender to nations (Deuteronomy 15:6). NEVER OUTGROW PRAISE By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. - (Hebrews 13:15) READ: Psalm 63:3-5 One way the enemy cheats many believers is by making them look down on the praise and worship sessions in their churches. Such believers either do not participate in the sessions or wait until they are over before they enter their churches. They think that praising God and dancing before Him is childish, or that they are too spiritually mature to dance and praise Him. In God's sight, however, we are all children because a thousand years is as a day before Him (2 Peter 3:8). This means that in God's eyes, nobody on earth today is up to a day old. Praise is one of the most potent weapons Christians have. Psalm 22:3 says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." This means that your praise attracts God's presence, and when God visits a place, He does not come empty-handed. He comes bearing gifts, healings, and blessings. When Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah used praise as their weapon, their enemies turned against one another and killed themselves until they were utterly destroyed (2 Chronicles 20:22-24). Some battles can only be conquered when you praise and dance recklessly before God. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. - (Acts 16:25-26) In the Scripture above, Paul and Silas offered a sacrifice of praise to God in prison. God responded by causing a great earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison, opened all its doors, and loosed every prisoner's chains. No one can praise God wholeheartedly and remain bound. When you praise God with your whole heart, He will arise in His might to help you and bless you. Beloved, you must never allow yourself to get to a point where you think you have outgrown praise. Michal thought that praising God was beneath her royal status; as a result, she remained childless throughout her life (2 Samuel 6:16-23). Always come before your Father as a child and praise Him with all your heart. In Psalm 50:23, He said that whoever offers praise to Him glorifies Him, and when God is glorified in your life, His beauty will radiate through you and everything that concerns you. I pray that as you praise God, His glory will keep manifesting in your life, in Jesus' name. KEY POINT: Never outgrow praise because it is dear to God's heart. MESSAGE The first time I travelled to the United States of America was in the summer of 1979, and I had an experience that can be described as heavenly. I stayed in Tulsa, and in that city, the sun would still be up late into the evening. The streets were so clean that it felt like one could eat off them. The bathroom of my hotel room had three faucets: one for hot water, another for warm water, and the last for cold water. Also, the electricity never went out, and everything was just fantastic. After two weeks, I returned to Nigeria, and as the plane was about to land, I looked out of the window and noticed a stark difference between where I was coming from and where I was returning to, because in those days Nigeria was far less developed than it is now. Beloved, my experience in Tulsa, all those years ago, can in no way be compared to heaven. In heaven, there is no night at all because, in today's Bible reading, we are made to understand that "...the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof" (Revelation 21:23). Heaven is a beautiful place that no one should miss, and I pray that you will not miss it, in Jesus' name. Heaven is God's promise to all believers. Jesus said in today's memory verse that where He is, we will also be. If you have given your life to Jesus and are following Him faithfully, you will end up where He is at the end of your earthly sojourn. When children go to school, they know that at the end of the school day, they will return home to their parents. Likewise, if God is truly your Father, you have an assurance that you will reign with Him in eternity after your sojourn here on earth. However, only those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus can be children of God, and only His children can spend eternity with Him in heaven. Beloved, are you sure of where you will spend eternity? If you want your stay in heaven to be guaranteed, you must not allow sin in your heart. You must be fully committed to Jesus Christ and do His will at all times. I have made up my mind to shun sin and be fully committed to Jesus Christ so I can spend my eternity with Him in heaven. FOCUS ON THE UNSEEN While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. - (2 Corinthians 4:18) READ: Hebrews 11:1-3 Today's Bible reading makes us understand that everything on earth was framed by God's word. This means that the things which you can see were made from things that are unseen. This is why God wants His children to focus more on spiritual things than physical things. In today's memory verse, Paul encourages us to fix our eyes on things which are not seen. Therefore, if you are going through a challenge, for example, instead of focusing only on what you can see physically, ask God to show you what is behind the challenge you are facing. Go to Him in prayers, and, like Rebekah did, ask Him, "If it be so, why am I thus?" (Genesis 25:22). Whenever there is a challenge, many people waste their time focusing only on what they can see physically. However, if they go to God in prayers and ask that their eyes be opened to see the unseen, He will answer them and also guide them towards the right solution. In Luke 15:11-32, Jesus told the parable of the prodigal son who wasted his inheritance by living irresponsibly in a faraway country. Before long, he began to be in want and struggled to make ends meet. Things got so bad that he thought of eating food that was meant for pigs because he had nothing to eat. When he came to the end of himself, however, he decided to return to his father, and all his problems disappeared instantly. He would have continued struggling and running in circles if he had not changed his focus by returning to his father. Beloved, if you keep facing the same challenge or struggling with an issue, you might need a change of focus. You need to fix your gaze on your heavenly Father by calling on Him in prayer. It doesn't take God ages to answer prayers, but when your focus is in the wrong direction, you will not be able to see the provisions He has made for you to overcome whatever challenge you are facing. All God wants you to do is to fix your gaze on Him so He can show you the path to your victory and release His blessings upon you. I pray that the Almighty God will help you to keep your gaze fixed on Him at all times, so you will be empowered to walk in total victory perpetually. SEEING EYES 2 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. - (Isaiah 29:18) READ: Genesis 21:14-19 (KJV) Yesterday, I mentioned that eyes that see are not just physical eyes. When the Lord gives you eyes that see, you will begin to experience relief in any situation where you might have previously experienced hardship. In today's Bible reading, as Hagar and her son, Ishmael, journeyed in the wilderness, they ran out of water to drink. The wilderness is not a place to wander in without water; hence, it did not take long before Ishmael got dehydrated and weak. He became so weak that his mother thought he would die. Knowing that there was nothing she could do to keep her son alive, she distanced herself from him and began to weep. At that moment, God intervened and opened her eyes to see that the solution to her problem was right beside her. There was a well of water close to her, but she didn't see it until God opened her eyes. How sad would it have been if she had died of thirst without knowing that the solution she was seeking was so close to her. If you are currently experiencing any challenges, I pray that the Almighty God will open your eyes to see the right solutions to them, in Jesus' name. When people don't have seeing eyes, they will walk in darkness. They may have blessings all around them, but they may still suffer because they cannot see them. Those who do not have seeing eyes are at the mercy of others. They stumble at things that shouldn't ordinarily trip them up because they cannot see. Darkness brings confusion and emptiness, and this is why the earth was void and without form until God commanded light to be (Genesis 1:2). Beloved, God wants to give you eyes that see so that you can see His numerous blessings and enjoy His never-ending goodness. What He wanted Hagar to see was a well of water; however, for you, He might want you to see another source of income, a better way of doing all that He wants you to do, or better ways of relating with people. He does not want you to live in darkness; rather, He wants you to be full of light. He wants to show you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches in secret places. I pray that the Lord will open your eyes to see all the good things He has prepared for you, in Jesus' name. SEEING EYES 1 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them. - (Proverbs 20:12) READ: 2 Kings 4:1-7 Today's Bible reading tells us about a widow who was about to lose her sons to slavery because her late husband left behind a huge debt. She was in a desperate situation, and in her desperation, she ran to Prophet Elisha and shared her plight with him. After telling the prophet about her troubles, he asked her what she had in her house, and she replied, "Nothing, except a pot of oil." She thought that what she had was little, but she didn't realise that it was all she needed to become financially free. Sometimes, you don't need more than what you already have in order to receive what God has in store for you. All that the widow in today's Bible reading needed to have a financial breakthrough had been in her house all along, but she didn't know it. It took Elisha's instructions on what to do with what she had to help her experience the potential of the 'little' that was in her possession. If God had opened her eyes to see what He could do with the little she had, she would have never been in distress. I pray that the Almighty God will open your eyes to see the solutions He has put around you, in Jesus' name. In today's memory verse, the Bible says that the ears that hear and the eyes that see were made by the Lord. This means that a person can be surrounded by prosperity; however, if God doesn't enable that person to see the opportunities He has placed around him or her, such a person can die in poverty. Having eyes that see is more than just having physical eyes. When you have eyes that see, you will see opportunities where others see challenges and abundance where others see scarcity. When God opened Isaac's eyes to see opportunities in the midst of famine, he became so wealthy that the Philistines began to envy him because he had become wealthier than them (Genesis 26:12-16). Beloved, in order to thrive, you need to have eyes that see. You need to see beyond the ordinary to achieve extraordinary results. Over the next few days, I will share the importance of having seeing eyes and why you should ask the Lord for them. I pray that my Daddy will give you seeing eyes so you will see opportunities where others see obstacles and experience breakthroughs where others experience oppositions, in Jesus' name. START FROM WHERE YOU ARE For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. - (Zechariah 4:10) READ: John 4:25-30 Some people choose to be passive and not apply themselves in their careers and even things that have to do with God's Kingdom, because they don't want to start small. They keep postponing the things they ought to do because they feel that they are not equipped enough. If God has given you an assignment, you should not wait until you feel you are good enough to start. This is because He knew your capacity and imperfections before He chose you. Even though you need to keep growing and equipping yourself so you can progressively become a more valuable vessel in His hands, you should not keep God waiting once He commissions you for an assignment because you want to become perfect for the assignment. In John 4:1-30, when Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman, she returned to her people and started telling them about Jesus. All she had was one encounter with the Master, but it was enough for people to follow her to see Him and encounter Him also. She didn't first enrol in a theological school or go for classes with the Scribes; she started from where she was and with what she had. When God called Moses in Exodus 3, he felt like he was not competent enough for the job. He kept giving God excuses and even suggested that He choose someone else. God never calls the qualified; rather, He always equips those He chooses. God can choose to bypass individuals who seem vastly experienced and qualified, and select a totally inexperienced and unqualified person. For example, God bypassed Jesse's older sons to choose David, the lastborn of the family, who appeared unqualified for kingship. Psalm 78:70-71 says that God picked David from the sheepfolds and brought him to feed His inheritance. God delights in using the foolish things of the world to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). He also can choose to hide some things from the wise and rather reveal them to babes (Matthew 11:25). Beloved, has God called you to do something for Him? Look beyond your current resources and what seems to be your capacity, and launch out. Start from where you are; don't despise your little beginnings. On Judgement Day, God will not be concerned about the skilled and qualified; rather, He will be looking to say, "... Well done, thou good and faithful servant..." (Matthew 25:21). Start small, remain faithful, and the Lord will equip you with all that you need as you carry out your divine assignments. KEY POINT: When God gives you an assignment, start from where you are. POVERTY ≠ GODLINESS Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. - (3 John 2) READ: 2 Kings 4:1-7 In the 70s, when I became born again, it was widely believed among Christians that poverty is one of the criteria for being a true child of God. This belief was so strong that when someone gifted me a Mercedes-Benz, I parked it in my garage unused for months until the Lord told me I was hindering the blessings of the person who gave me the car by not using it. I was afraid that people would think I had backslidden if they saw me in such an expensive car. Because of what the Lord had said to me, I decided to drive the car just once, and I recall that I felt so ashamed that day. After that day, I said, "Lord, I have driven the car, can I sell it now?" He agreed, and I sold it. Not long after that, someone gave me a limousine with six doors. When I saw it, I said, "Lord, you know that even if they put my dead body in this car, it will jump out of it." That is how much we thought that poverty was directly proportional to godliness in those days, and because of that, the devil cheated us. He raised people to take over companies and industries until Christians were at the mercy of evil people running different economies around the world. There is nothing godly about poverty; it has sent many people to hell, just as riches have done. Poverty has made many youths decide never to follow the path of their Christian parents because of how badly they suffered while growing up. It has made the people of the world mock the Almighty God because they thought that Christians were dumb as a result of their devotion to God. In today's Bible reading, one of Elisha's proteges died in poverty and left an inheritance of debt for his family. If his wife had not run to Elisha and received the word of the Lord that turned their poverty to wealth, his two sons, who were facing a lifetime of slavery, could have grown up hating God even though their father was a godly man. God is not poor (Haggai 2:8), so poverty is not godliness. God gives his children power to make wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), and it is His desire to prosper them even as their soul prospers (3 John 1:2). Beloved, reject poverty! However, as they get older, if the circumstances of their lives do not seem to match what they had dreamed about, they tend to start giving up on their dreams. If someone reminds them about the dreams they once had, some of them might say, “Reality set in.” Child of God, there is no reality apart from the one you make for yourself. If you stop dreaming or working towards achieving your dreams, they may just never come to pass. However, with your faith in God, continue to dream, work towards achieving them, and you will eventually see them come to pass. In Genesis 41:41-44, Joseph’s opportunity to rule, as he had seen in his dream, eventually came. Although his brothers tried to kill his dream (Genesis 37:18-20), and Potiphar’s wife also tried to destroy him (Genesis 39:1-20), God kept him and made him triumphant. When he was in prison, he could have said, “Reality has set in,” and given up on his dreams. Rather, he continued to prepare himself by improving his administrative skills and gift of interpreting dreams. From his story, we can see that preparation is crucial in positioning you to achieve your dreams. If Joseph had been laid-back and had refused to prepare and develop himself, he would have missed a great opportunity to fulfil his dreams as he stood before Pharaoh. If all he had told Pharaoh was the interpretation of his dreams without the wise counsel on how to administer the resources of Egypt, perhaps he would have been returned to prison as a privileged prisoner. Beloved, don’t just dream; develop the skills that are needed for your dreams to become a reality and also sharpen the skills you will need when they come to pass. You must also use your God-given gifts at every opportunity you get. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” Your gifts will give you the chance for your dreams to become a reality, and your skills will make you qualified to live those dreams. When opportunity meets preparation, destiny is sure to be fulfilled. Beloved, do not despise your days of preparation because they will develop your character and enable you to achieve your dreams and stay relevant for a very long time. I pray that when that great opportunity you desire is around the corner, you will be prepared for it, in Jesus name. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18 OPEN HEAVEN 03 JUNE 2026 READ: MATTHEW 13:5-6, MATTHEW 13:20-21 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. OPEN HEAVEN 03 JUNE 2026 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JOB 31–34 OPEN HEAVENS 03 JUNE 2026 MESSAGE: The second kind of soil Jesus described in His parable about the sower is ‘Stony places’. This soil type can be compared to people who receive the word of God with joy but turn their backs on it when they begin to encounter tough situations in their lives as a result of persecution. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you… John 15:20 In the Scripture above, Jesus said that His tollowers will be persecuted as He was also persecuted. Furthermore, Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:12 that every true follower of Christ will experience persecution in one form or another. Being persecuted is a painful experience, and believers are not immune to it. In fact, going through the fires of persecution helps Christians to grow in faith (1 Peter 1:6-7, James 1:2-3). Despite this, however, the devil manages to convince some believers that the pain they are experiencing as a result of persecution is proof that God is unfaithful and that He does not love them. The devil succeeds in doing this because such Christians have not grown in the knowledge of God through His word and are largely ignorant of His ways, character, and power. Thus, their foundation in faith is very weak, and they are easily swayed by the devil. It is good to hear the word of God and even be excited by it. Beyond that, however, every believer has the responsibility to build themselves up spiritually (1 Corinthians 3:9-10), and one of the ways to do this is by increasing their knowledge of God through His word. There is a popular saying that ignorance is bliss, but this is not true for a believer. Being in a state of ignorance about the word of God and making no efforts to build yourself up spiritually is very dangerous because it can lead to destruction (Hosea 4:6). Beloved, do not allow yourself to fall victim to the wiles of the devil and be destroyed by him. Don’t just listen to the word of God from various ministers and get excited by it, or be a believer who only opens the Bible on Sundays. Rather, be like the Bereans who took responsibility for knowing God by themselves (Acts 17:10-11). I pray that as you sow the seeds of the word of God daily into your heart, you will reap bountiful fruits of His goodness and mercy, in Jesus’ name. Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. - (Hosea 10:12) READ: Ezekiel 36:25-30 According to (2 Corinthians 5:17), when a fellow becomes born again, he or she immediately becomes a new creature. In Ezekiel 36:26, God said that He will take away our stony heart and replace it with a heart of flesh. When people give their lives to Jesus Christ, they exchange their stony hearts for hearts of flesh. However, despite this, the world is plagued with many people who claim to be believers, but whose hearts appear not to be different from those of unbelievers. Sadly, some people who serve as ministers of God also still appear to have hearts like unbelievers. Some of them go as far as not forgiving fellow ministers who have offended them. This is wrong, and it was not so at the inception of the Church. The Bible says that the Church was in one accord (Acts 1:14), and believers were called Christians because they were Christ-like (Acts 11:26). Unfortunately, however, you might find some self-professing Christians today accepting bribes or dancing in nightclubs because they still have stony hearts. From the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:1-23, it is very clear that there was nothing wrong with the seeds that were sown. The seeds, which Jesus revealed to be the word of God, were potent, as God's word is always potent. However, despite the potency of the seeds, only a fraction of them yielded a harvest. The reason some of the seeds did not bear fruit was the ground on which they fell, and as Jesus explained, the heart of a fellow in which the word of God is sown is the major determinant of whether the word will bear fruit in his or her life or not. Beloved, if you are living in sin, or if you allow the circumstances around you to determine how you receive the word of God and how it will operate in you, then you have a stony heart, and God's word will not bear fruit in you. For His word to bear fruit in you, you must repent of any sin that might exist in your life and cry out to Him to wash you clean, transform you, and give you a heart of flesh. God will answer you and make your heart a fertile ground for His word to grow. I pray that you will continually experience the blessings in God's word as you surrender your life completely to Him, in Jesus' name. OPEN HEAVEN 24 MAY 2026 MESSAGE: Spiritual discernment is crucial for every Christian, especially when making critical life decisions such as choosing a marriage partner, where to live, and who to associate with. Some Christians have married evil people disguised as angels of light, because they lacked spiritual discernment. They embraced Jezebels and Nabals – idolatrous and foolish people who can lead them astray and ruin their lives. Believers need God’s direction to know the right people to marry. For example, when Abraham wanted to choose a wife for Isaac, he gave his servant specific instructions about the type of woman who would be suitable for his son and fit to partake in the covenant God had made with him (Genesis 24:1-8). He told his servant to go to his country and kindred to take a wife for Isaac. This is the first criterion for a Christian’s choice in marriage; he or she must marry a fellow Christian because our country as believers is heaven. Some believers have disregarded this criterion to their detriment. Apart from a believer ensuring that whoever he or she wants to get married to is a Christian, it is also crucial to ask God to show him or her the right person among His numerous children. Some Christian ladies have been carried away by a suitor’s charisma, so they didn’t ask God if he was a suitable spouse for them or not. Likewise, some Christian men have allowed a lady’s commitment in church to blind them to what God is saying about her character. When it comes to the issue of marriage, a believer cannot afford to be carried away by external things and miss the Holy Spirit’s direction. If you are still single, I pray that you will allow the Lord, and not your emotions, physical preferences, or human calculations, to guide you in your choice of a marriage partner, in Jesus’ name. Where to live is another crucial decision that requires spiritual discernment. In Genesis 13:10-13, Lot didn’t inquire from God before choosing to pitch his tent towards Sodom. He found himself in the midst of sinners and wicked people, and eventually, he lost his home when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sins of their inhabitants. Only spiritually discerning people will know whether God wants them to relocate or not, and where to relocate to. Beloved, don’t make critical life decisions based solely on your judgment and understanding. Seek God’s counsel and remain spiritually discerning to know what He wants you to do.
